the EYE effect

I'm real big on shades, any sliver of sun and I'm throwing them on. Sunglasses are a spring and summer ESSENTIAL. There are two important things to remember when shopping for sunglasses 1. Look for sunglasses that work for your face, everybody can't wear every shape 2. look for unique designs that stand out. Generally if you have a small head you don't want huge glasses, because it looks like your glasses are wearing a face. What most people neglect  to pay attention to is UV protection. Sunglasses should have 100% protection, just like your skin needs protection, so do your eyes. It's important to make sure your glasses sit evenly and comfortably on your face. To see if there even, sit them on a table and look at them, if one of the legs sits up there off, don't worry any sunglasses store can fix them or even them out for you. Now I'm really not a fan of wearing sunglasses indoors and especially in the club, but sometimes they can bring an edge to an outfit. The key to this is DON'T WEAR SUNGLASSES WITH A DARK A** TINT!!!!!!! if your going to do it make sure your eyes can be seen, red, brown, green tint you can get away with, its dark why are your glasses dark you look like a blind A**. I'm really amped about the new styles coming out this summer many designers are really taking shades to the next level. The one design I'm the most excited about is the Louis Vuitton evidence, I lie to you not when i walked passed the window display in Miami, I stopped in my tracks and had to go in the store. Before I could finish my sentence of "The glasses" the sales woman said "The evidence". Apparently these glasses have been selling out, which says something since they run for a little over $700, depending on who you are and what you have to spend, worth the investment. Here are some other styles to check out:

Gucci has brought back the tortoise shell sunglasses the bar across the top and gold and tortoise shell legs remind you of old Hollywood

Every man should own a pair of aviator's. They simply state " I'm one cool a$$ dude". Dolce an Gabbbana has not missed this point and with a metallic link crossbar they have taken it into the future.

The evidence, the hottest thing on the sunglasses scene right now. Everything about these shades stands out. The gold bar across the top has the Louis Vuitton pattern embedded, the signature LV is in the frame itself. Even for the price tag these have been going like wildfire. The style is very retro, it comes in white, black, and brown and def. stops everyone in their tracks

LINKS 2 kool*NESS

Personal kool*NESS is a reflection of a number of things. You have to be up on the latest from sports to music. I can only cover so much and despite what I sometimes like to think I don't know it all. Since starting this blog I have come across a couple blogs worth checking out, that can cover these subjects more in depth than me.

Sports:
Check out Thee Score, from exclusive conversations with athletes to polls on ethics and conduct. Thee Daht's analysis really goes in depth with whats going on with the sports world, not to mention the jokes keep you entertained. To stay current and up to date on whats happening in the sports world this is defnitely a blog to check out.

Music:
What I like about Nukidontheblock is the versatility of the topic's. From spolighting new artists such as Drake, to video performances from Kanye (not an artist I like, but what the hell) and artist at the grammy's. Don't slip on your music game, to stay up to date cruise through the Nukidsblock.

Poetry:
Writing is a release for the mind and soul. When I came across Ms. Philadelphia's blog revelations of a free spirit uninhibited, it really threw me. I was reconnected with how refreshing poetry can be. The title speaks for itself her writing is relatable to everyone and damn near makes you think she's pulling thoughts right from your head. She seems to take one concept and relate it to another from paranoia equated to a love lost, to a women being catergorized as dimes, nickels, and penny's. Her blog isn't a must read it's a sick back, find your groove, and feel the words flow!

BLACK & BLUE

Now initially I did not want to touch on the Chris Brown/Rihanna thing. There was so much going on, and my blog isn't a gossip column. Recently a police photo surfaced of Rihanna's injuries and honestly I was pissed by so many aspects of this and the snowball affect it had. I was watching 106 and Park and Terrance was talking about, how even though we have a black president, we still need to do our part and hold him down. He said "Recent events that yall already know what I'm talking about, yall athlete's, artists, singers need to do better and set an example of how we treat these young women". He's absolutely right, what really pisses me off about this situation is, Chris Brown's LITTLE BOY ass antic's have set us as black men so far back. We are already looked at as violent, ignorant, and disrespectful to our women and this is just another nail in the coffin, despite what many people think, having a black president will not change this we must change it. I'm tired of these black celebrities doing this outrageous bullshit because they think they can, what yall do effects all of us. Now there are stories of Rihanna giving him herpes, now if that's true that's extremely wrong, but that brings up another issue that you should have been getting tested because HIV and AIDS is tearing our community down, so you still have no right. Honestly I think Chris Brown is really doing his thing and I like a lot of his songs, but now I find it hard to support the dude. As black men whether we know it or not we are feared because of our minds, fearlessness, and the accomplishments our hands have done, there is no reason our women should fear us, because of our hands. Apparently Chris Brown has said that he witnessed his mother being abused and he could never do something like that. Fella's we f**k up, we're human, circumstances and situations arise. What separates men from boy's is men own up to there mistakes and work to become better. Now I'm sure Chris has been advised to lay low and not say anything but if I was him, I would make a public apology to my fan's I let down, the people who believe in me, and most importantly the person I hurt. He needs to let people know it's not OK and and he may not be able to fix it, but he will work to be better. We have to respect that, "Let him who has not sinned cast the first stone". This hiding out thing is BS, no matter what everyone else tells you, you ALWAYS need to go with what you know is right. I've come across a lot of facebook status's glorifying and making light of the situation. One girl's status was along the lines of leave Chris alone it was a bad situation move on, another status said "Its official Chris Brown an Rihanna are 2009's Ike and Tina", not to mention the don't make me Chris brown you references. Now I admit before I knew the severity of the situation, I made jokes about the situation too, but this isn't a laughing matter. What disturbs me is what direction is our community going when our women are accepting abuse as a way of life and us as men find it the joke of the week. Abuse has effected a lot of people as the jokes and anecdote's come you don't know that the person you're talking to, could be a victim of it, scarred by it, and may find it too personal to tell you about. Rihanna isn't the face of abuse, she's just a face of abuse. Fellas, sometimes we just gotta walk away. Women wear their hearts on their sleeve, sometimes they gotta scream an go off. When she's going on her rampage just dip out, get some wings, take a jog, let her get that out then come back and work the situation out. We are men, the hollering, punching walls, the tantrums and antics are female traits, let them have it and we as men need to open up communication lines. Sit her down as she screams and hollers, just look at her, hell hold a mirror up to her, an tell we're adults and look at how your acting. We have to start taking charge in the right way. Ladies yall want us to be men, let us be men. Too many times black women want to de-masculinize the black male, it is NEVER OK to put your hands on a man. Any woman that takes it to that level, it shows what type of woman you are and how little respect you have for a black man. All this makes me realize, the core of the problem is black men and women need to develop a better respect for each other and this starts with respecting ourselves. Don't think Michelle an Barack brought this back it never left we just forgot to open our eyes to whats in front of us. We all need to work to be better
